My impression is that Garber is really writing about professors -- not about students. She is not going to be helpful to your topic. The same with The Compleat Academic. That's not about student culture -- it's about being a professor.

Moffatt, obviously, is good. But what about Nathan? You should also consider the book "Educated in Romance" which is excerpted in the Resources area of our Sakai site. Obviously Binge is good.
Work on focus! Really read through the sources you find -- don't just think they will work based on the title.
This is a better list. But it seems you are looking for some hard evidence of value -- and perhaps of the negative impact that over-indulgence in the excesses of college life can have on the value of education. You might check out this Wall Street Journal article for starters -- it might give you ideas. And you might look for more articles along these lines.
